Studielandsbyen is a large residential community stemming from a four-winged half-timbered farm from the 18th century. The original and old details have been preserved, but they are also combined with new and sustainable solutions. You are automatically transported back in time as you stroll around the courtyard paved with cobblestones or gaze upon the thatched roof. It's a truly extraordinary sensation that must be experienced firsthand. The pictures we have taken don't fully do justice to Studielandsbyen. Do yourself a favor and swing by Damagervej in Viby J. You certainly won't regret it! Most people hearing the name Studielandsbyen assume (for good reason) that you have to be a student to secure housing there... but that's a myth we'd like to debunk. The apartments are rented out to all young individuals who wish to actively participate in a residential community where the core values are engagement, initiative, and interest. It doesn't matter if you're studying anthropology, working as a waiter, or something entirely different. We guarantee that your occupation plays no role!

Personal apartments with loft

All the residences in Studielandsbyen are designed to make the most of few square meters, but that's by no means a hindrance - quite the opposite! Each lease holds everything you need for daily life, and you can easily infuse the space with personality and character. The apartments include a kitchen with dining area and living space, a bathroom with toilet and shower, and an entrance area with room for a small storage solution. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator and hobs, and there's space for you to bring your own mini oven or countertop dishwasher. There isn't a conventional oven in the unit, but you're always welcome to heat a meal in the oven in the communal house. At the top of the apartments lies a spacious loft with wooden cladding, which you can use as a bedroom. There's plenty of headroom, so you can stand upright. In some of the units, you'll also find a built-in walk-in closet in the loft, where you can organize your shirts, pants, and shoes. It's quite smart.

A fantastic common house

The heart of Studielandsbyen is the original stable building, converted into a common house with a lounge area, kitchen, and dining space. Here, there's ample opportunity to get closer to your neighbors during weekdays and weekends. It might be over a spontaneous beer, a game of fooosball, or an exciting movie playing on the flat-screen TV. The common house also features a pay-per-use laundry room.

Social activities on the agenda

The mortar that binds Studielandsbyen together is community. The physical spaces provide the foundation for social interaction, which the residents champion in their daily lives. The residents are and will always be the most important piece of Studielandsbyen. They always put their own skills into play - whether it's an insatiable love for cooking, green fingers, or a creative mind. It warms our hearts at ejsingholm!

A plethora of events

Every month, ejsingholm invites everyone to a free communal dinner. It might be a homemade meal, or food from some of our culinary partners. Studielandsbyen is bursting at the seams with engaged residents who spend their time organizing events. It could be anything from Chinese New Year and carnival parties to flea markets and coffee clubs. The calendar is almost never empty.

Communal dinners, parties, TV nights, walks, and spontaneous gatherings have been enriching, and the security of knowing the people living around you has been reassuring and given me a sense of homeliness.

About the area

The residences are ideal for students and young people who want to be close to Aarhus but still desire green oases at their fingertips. Studielandsbyen is situated amidst fields where horses graze peacefully, and it's a short distance to the idyllic Brabrandsti, which winds around Brabrandsøen. This provides an opportunity to lace up your hiking boots or hop on your bike saddle. On your way around the lake, you might take a well-deserved break at the small container café, Æblehaven, which serves gourmet hot dogs and handcrafted sodas - yum! It's the perfect way to replenish your energy reserves (and motivation). Studielandsbyen is also just a stone's throw from Viby Torv, where you'll find Viby Centret, Føtex, and a handful of takeaway spots. From here, you can also catch several bus connections that quickly transport you to Aarhus City Centre, which is teeming with experiences such as theater, music, restaurants, and shopping. Studielandsbyen is an excellent blend of nature and culture.
